Beginning the home search process and confused about what the buyer broker agreement is or when it is supposed to be signed?

As of today an agent should have you sign one before showing a home. It could be made for the day, for a specific house, or any amount of time up to a year.  However, starting November 1, it may be different for agents at different brokerages. SB 1217 will give brokerages the flexibility to decide when the buyer broker agreement needs to be signed.
