🇺🇸 25 years ago today.

It’s hard to believe it’s been that long. I was sitting in Driver’s Ed at Enterprise High School when we were told about the attacks on the World Trade Center. I’ll never forget Coach Chambers telling us that we would remember that day for the rest of our lives, just as he remembered where he was when President Kennedy was shot.

He was absolutely right. I have never forgotten that day or the days that followed.

Those days that followed were filled with heartbreak, but they were also filled with unity. People came together. We prayed together. We supported one another. We were simply Americans.
I pray often that our country can find its way back to that kind of unity.

Today, we remember the first responders who dropped everything and ran toward danger to save others. We remember the men and women who simply went to work that morning and never made it home. We remember the families whose lives were forever changed by unimaginable loss. And we remember the soldiers that fought for our country after this tragic day.

September 11, 2001. Never forget. ❤️🤍💙

My nephew absolutely loved getting his books each month! Please help by donating! Let’s keep Dolly’s passion for helping kids alive in Coffee County!📚♥️

Our hearts are heavy and our world forever changed at the loss of our Dolly!!!

In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, 1317 children in Coffee County find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

But while the books are free to our families, they are not free to our program—and we need our community’s help to keep them coming. One book cost $2.60, but thanks to the State of Alabama's pledge to cover half of that cost we are responsible for $1.30 per book, per child, per month.

As enrollment continues to grow, so does the financial responsibility of keeping this program available to every eligible child in our community. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us keep books arriving in little hands and helps build a stronger foundation for the future of Coffee County.

Your Gift Makes a Difference

$7.80 provides six months of books for a child.
$15.60 provides an entire year of books for one child.
