Land Survey / Party Chief's main purpose:
• Party Chief insures proper techniques and procedures are used in all types of survey venues - Construction, Topographic, Aerial, ALTA's, Cadastral and Section breakdowns.
• Performs construction layout of horizontal and vertical control for civil and architectural construction projects.
• Performs field calculations, as needed.
• Performs error checking procedures.
• Keeps detailed notes of calculations, topographical surveys, level runs and points staked.
• Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Ensures client has good communications with field and office.
• Leads and direct others on crew.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Typically reports to Professional Land Surveyor / Survey Manager.
The Party Chief will be responsible for activities that include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Download/Upload data collector on a daily basis.
• Prepare and maintain daily survey notes (per format), field book entries, cut sheets, raw data files, sketches and level notes.
• Perform field calculations, as needed.
Maintain open communication between field and office.
• Obtain signed Extra Work Ticket(s), as requested.
• Manage crew to ensure project is completed on time and within budget.
Technical Skills:
• Proficient in all survey instruments.
• Operation of Data Collector and their programs - Trimble, Carlson and TDS.
• Read and interpret plans, maps and drawings.
• Establishment of horizontal and vertical control.
• Construction Staking Standards.
• Topo and Aerial Survey Requirements.
• AutoCad C3D (Optional not necessary).
***Minimum 3 Years Experience as Land Surveyor/Party Chief
