My doctor told me I needed a hobby. Something that was just for me.
So naturally, I took up golf again after a 10 year hiatus and immediately turned it into a full blown obsession.
Lessons. New clubs. Practice sessions. YouTube rabbit holes. Tracking every swing. Chasing mastery one frustrating shot at a time.
The funny thing is, I realized golf scratches the same itch that real estate does for me.
There’s always another level. Another skill to learn. Another challenge to solve. Another opportunity to get just a little bit better than yesterday.
The difference is that golf forces me to be present. It doesn’t let me think about deals, projects, or the next thing on my list. It demands my full attention.
Turns out “me time” isn’t slowing down.
It’s finding something worth pouring yourself into that has nothing to do with work.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to convince myself that buying another club will definitely fix my swing.
