🐾🎉 Attention dog lovers in the Whiteaker community! 🎉🐾

The brand-new dog park at Washington Jefferson Park is officially open and ready for all our furry pals to come and play 🐶

Located between West 5th and 6th avenues, this pawsome 1.3-acre dog park features double entry gates, park benches, doggy bag dispensers, and garbage service 🗑️🐕

The park is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., so whether your pooch is an early bird or a night owl, there's plenty of time for leash-free fun!

Please keep in mind these important rules to ensure everyone has a tail-wagging good time:
🐾 Leash your dog when entering and leaving the park
🐾 Remove your dog immediately if it becomes aggressive
🐾 Remain in the area with your dog and have voice control at all times
🐾 No dogs are allowed to fight, bite, or bark excessively
🐾 Do not bring a dog that is in estrus to the park

Plus, some additional tips to keep everyone safe:
⚠️ Use caution when allowing children to enter this off-leash area
⚠️ Closely monitor your dog’s behavior at all times
⚠️ Do not bring more dogs into the park than you can personally control

Our community gardens program is now accepting new gardener applications for the 2024 growing season.

Develop your green thumb and join our community of gardeners in one of 400 plots and 6 garden locations across the city.

Applications will be accepted through February 15 and new plots are assigned by lottery in March.

Notably for residents, Polk St, W 5th and Jefferson are routes on the map (Priority 2)... The City of Eugene has declared an ice/snow emergency, effective immediately. The emergency declaration means all vehicles must be removed immediately from designated snow emergency routes.

Today, United Way of Lane County launched this Wildfire Response Fund focused on supporting nonprofits and community organizations that are assisting community members who have experienced the loss of a home or business, or are otherwise impacted as a result of Lane County wildfires. Funds raised will support nonprofit agencies in Lane County working directly to meet the needs of families and individuals affected by the fire.
