Cost Effective and Creative Solutions for Counter Tops

I love home improvement projects that stretch the Dollar!

It is a challenge to see how far you can go with fewer resources (like money time and energy!) and often when you move to a different home, you may want to make changes that reflect your own style. If you have been in your home long enough, you may want a fresh look.

The year I moved to my home, there were so many necessary updates to enhance the efficiency and safety, that the cosmetic updates were low on the list of financial priorities. Because of the necessary expenses, I couldn't actually afford to change out the laminate countertops...and I didn't like them!

It was a relief to find a durable countertop paint, because it was a cheap fix, and gave me a nicer look...in any color I wanted! Eventually, that finish took enough of my abuse and hard living and begged for another coat of paint. Looking online for inspiration for the next coat of paint, I discovered a very different product....StoneCoat Countertops, an Epoxy product.

After watching a few YouTube tutorials on the application of this product, I was convinced I could do it! The appeal to me was that the look I could achieve was only limited by my imagination...and courage! The real influencing factor for me was that I was able to save several thousand dollars for a beautiful improvement. What might have cost me about $6000 in actual stone, cost me under $300.

This is a great way to affordably update an otherwise costly element, in your current home, rental property, or newly purchased home in need of some cosmetic improvements. It can be applied to look like Granite, Marble, or any other surface, including wood or even water! It is a very durable product and tolerates impact, heat, and if it gets scratches, the scratches can be polished out! This is a great product for kitchens, baths, or tabletops, and countless other applications.
