Every summer, Oregon braces for smoke, evacuations, road closures, and communities wondering whether this will be the fire that reaches them.

We can’t prevent every wildfire—but we can do more to influence what that fire finds when it arrives.

Thinning, prescribed fire, targeted grazing, fuel breaks, and defensible space can all help reduce wildfire risk. Yet too often, prevention gets tied up for years while millions of dollars become available once the landscape is already burning.

We’ve made it easier to fund the disaster than to prevent it.

It was great to have Nevada represented at this excellent conference!

Lori and I attended the National Land Conference last Month in San Antonio, TX and as always it was full of good information and a lot of great Farm/Ranch and land folks. This photo shows the Nevada delegation: Myself; Carrie Norcutt; Dawn Bear and Ellie Perkins Stillman. I serve on the Government Affairs Committee for Realtor's Land Institute and represent them on the NAR Insurance Committee. Dawn is on the future leaders committee and Ellie is the President of the Western States Chapter which I'm also a director on.
