They matter, of course.

But obsessing over one number can distract you from the question that actually matters: does buying a home right now make sense for your finances, your plans, and the life you’re trying to build here in Humboldt County?

A rate can tell you part of the cost.

It can’t tell you whether you’ve outgrown your current space, how long you plan to stay, what opportunities exist in the Humboldt County, CA housing market, or whether the monthly payment fits comfortably into your real life.

One of the best parts about living in Humboldt is how many places we can escape to without really going very far. 🌊

Shelter Cove is one of those places that immediately feels like a getaway — winding roads, endless ocean views, Black Sands Beach, sea lions, birds and that slower pace that makes you forget about everything else for a little while.

Sometimes the best vacation is just packing up the car and exploring another beautiful corner of the place you already call home.

There is so much to love about living in Humboldt, and having places like this in our backyard is definitely high on the list. 🤍
