SigEp Senior Spotlight:

Jack Byrne has been a member of IL Lambda since his freshman year, serving a variety of roles over his 4 years at Northwestern, including Chapter President, Balanced Man Scholarship Chair, and Senior Marshall on the Standards Board. Through the leadership and dedication he demonstrated during his tenure in IL Lambda, Jack has been honored by being selected to attend the Ruck Leadership Institute in Richmond, VA, was a recipient of the Frank J. Ruck Leadership Award, and served as our chapter’s delegate at the Grand Chapter Conclave this past summer in Houston, TX.

When asked about his experience in SigEp, Jack said, “My time in SigEp has been the best part of my college experience. I will fondly look back on these past four years, knowing that my brothers are friends for life.”

Jack will graduate from Northwestern with a degree in History and plans to take a gap year before applying to medical school. Jack’s love and dedication to our chapter are truly evident, and the fun he inspired, as well as his love of Oldsmobiles, will surely be missed.

SigEp Senior Spotlight:

Joshua Salazar has been a treasured member of IL Lambda for three years of his college career, immediately stepping into the role of Vice President of Member Development and serving in that role for two years. Josh also assisted fellow seniors to shift their focus to their post-college life by serving as the Epsilon coordinator during the end of his tenure in our chapter.

When asked about SigEp, Josh said, “When I joined SigEp, I had no interest in joining a fraternity. The bond between our brothers, not shackled by pledge class or hazing, drew me in and has continued to be an invaluable resource to me, something I want for every SigEp in the future. I love each of you, I hope you prosper, and I look forward to seeing you around.”

Josh will be graduating with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and plans to do what Josh describes as “something different”. IL Lambda will definitely miss the aura of positivity and encouragement you brought to our chapter, and we wish you well in your career pursuits!
