The Spring 2026 Tox-Away Day is happening this Saturday, March 28 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the former Roberts Stadium parking lot.
📍 Enter on E. Franklin Street (behind Swonder Ice Arena)
This annual event gives Vanderburgh County residents a safe, responsible way to dispose of household hazardous waste. Please note: this program is for households only (no businesses).
✅ Items Accepted:
Motor oil & filters, oil-based paint, automotive batteries & fluids, solvents & thinners, gasoline, antifreeze, rechargeable batteries, pesticides & herbicides, thermometers/mercury, aerosol cans, household cleaners, glues & adhesives, photographic chemicals, pool chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, medicines (no controlled substances), propane tanks, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers
🚫 Items NOT Accepted:
Commercial, infectious, industrial, or radioactive waste; explosives/ammunition; appliances; electronics; latex paint (may be disposed of in regular trash once hardened—air dry or solidify with kitty litter or sawdust)
