Here's something I tell sellers every fall: buyers make up their minds before they ever step inside.

Most of that happens from the car. Someone drives by after work, and by 6:30 it's getting dark and half the leaves on the block are in your yard. That first look decides whether they call to schedule a showing or keep driving.

The good news is that fall curb appeal doesn't take a big budget. It mostly takes a free Saturday afternoon. A few of these small jobs also save you trouble later. Clogged gutters in October turn into ice dams in January, and inspectors notice.
