This Excellence In Fibers is a 10th anniversary exhibition, bringing the best of current international fiber and textiles to a growing global fiber art community. Artists are encouraged to push the boundaries in the areas of installations, sculpture, vessels, wall/floor works, and wearable art. A Joyce Scott inspired Community Weaving Loom is available to enhance the Fiber Art Experience.
Excellence In Fibers X was juried by the Fiber Art Now creative team. These accomplished artists are the jurors:
Lori Butanis: Fiber Art Now creative director, graphic artist, art director
Barbara Delaney: Fiber Art Now editor, writer, and former managing editor of Cloth Paper Scissors magazine
Beth Smith: Fiber Art Now managing editor, exhibitions director, and Visions Art Museum: Contemporary Quilts + Textiles founding executive director emerita
Cami Smith: Fiber Art Now media manager and community engagement.
This juried exhibition appeared in the winter issue of Fiber Art Now, which was released in January 2025.
Walk and Talk: Excellence in Fibers X with Cami Smith
Join Fiber Art Now Contributing Editor, Media Manager and artist Cami Smith for a special Walk and Talk through the Excellence in Fibers X exhibition on Saturday, February 7 at 2:00 PM.
Cami will share insights from behind the scenes of the Fiber Art Now jury process, offering valuable tips for artists interested in submitting work for future issues and exhibitions. The event will also include discussion of selected artworks and perspectives, with additional comments from artist in residence Jamie Curtismith.
This engaging program will begin with a brief presentation in the studios before moving into the gallery for a guided tour of the exhibition.
Educators attending are eligible to receive Clock Hours.
