🍂 Your Everett Weekend Picks: Oct. 9–11

This weekend is looking cool, damp and very fall-like. Current forecasts put Friday around 57°F with patchy rain, Saturday around 59°F with a good chance of showers, and Sunday around 57°F with the best chance of a drier break.

So I’d make Saturday mostly indoor, then take advantage of any dry window Sunday for the market/waterfront.

🐾 BEST QUIRKY PICK — Pawsome Park & Lodge Grand Opening

Everett is getting a new indoor dog park, lodge and community gathering spot, and they’re throwing a grand-opening party with food and drink specials, giveaways, tours and a 3 PM ribbon cutting. Even if you don’t have a dog, it’s open to the community and definitely qualifies as one of those “only in Everett” finds.

🎨 COMIC + ART PICK — Everett Comic Arts Show

A new local gathering for comic-book fans, artists and collectors. This is my rainy-day recommendation for Saturday—you can browse comics and art, meet creators and hunt for something unusual without worrying about the weather.

💜 COMMUNITY PICK — Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Saturday, Oct. 10 • 10 AM–noon
Boxcar Park, Everett • Free

A family-friendly waterfront walk with the ceremony at 11 AM followed by the walk. If the rain is light, this is a nice way to get outside while supporting a meaningful local cause.

🎻 WORTHWHILE SPLURGE — Everett Philharmonic: ICONIC

This is probably my #1 pick for you this weekend if you want something special. The Everett Philharmonic opens its season with music by Márquez, Sousa, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius, featuring violinist Rachel Lee Priday. Perfect for a chilly Sunday afternoon.

😂 FRIDAY NIGHT — Everett Comedy Underground

Friday, Oct. 9 • Doors 7:30 PM, show 8 PM
The Muse Wh***ey & Coffee, 615 Millwright Loop W • 18+

A great way to avoid the Friday rain. The lineup includes Andrea Abbate, Alex Duffant and Mike Masilotti, with drinks and small bites available during the show.

🧺 SUNDAY MARKET — Everett Farmers Market

Wetmore Ave. between Pacific & Hewitt • Free

The market is still running through Oct. 25, so you’ve got a few more autumn Sundays to enjoy it. I’d go late morning if the weather cooperates, grab coffee and something seasonal to eat, then wander downtown before the Philharmonic.

🌊 EASY OUTDOOR OPTION — Waterfront + Marina Walk

Sunday afternoon • Free

If Sunday stays close to the drier forecast, I’d add a walk around Waterfront Place/Boxcar Park after the farmers market. October is prime “sweater + coffee + water views” weather, and you can keep this completely flexible depending on showers.

I’d make this an outdoor-and-evening-events weekend, with one or two indoor backups. ⁠

Downtown Snohomish • $40 presale / $50 at the door; students $30/$40. One ticket gets you into 11 venues for a Latin-jazz crawl with a large lineup of performers. This is the most distinctive music experience nearby and a great excuse to wander downtown, grab dinner, and catch multiple sets. ⁠

💃 Best quirky night out: “Elevate” Drag & Burlesque — Saturday, Sept. 19, 7:30–10 PM
Catalyst Cafe, 709 Hewitt Ave., Everett • $10 for the all-ages drag portion; $15 for the full 18+ drag-and-burlesque show. A very Everett-style pick: local performers, affordable cover, and a fun downtown night without committing to a big-ticket concert. ⁠

Howarth Park, 1127 Olympic Blvd., Everett • Free, aside from whatever you buy afterward. 🚶 Easy nature option: Lowell Riverfront Trail — Saturday or Sunday daytime

My top pick is Friday’s Sail-In Cinema at Boxcar Park. Zootopia 2 starts at 8:40 PM Friday, Aug. 21, and admission is free. It’s the season finale of Snohomish County’s waterfront movie series, and you can bring a blanket or low-back chair. I’d make an evening of it with dinner at the waterfront first, then walk over for the movie.

🚘 Wheels on the Waterfront — Saturday, Aug. 22 is another strong pick at Boxcar Park. Expect classic cars, trucks and motorcycles plus live music and food vendors along the marina. Spectator admission is free.

⛵ For something particularly PNW, the historic schooner Adventuress returns to Everett beginning Sunday, Aug. 23 for a stay running through Sept. 4. The Port’s calendar confirms the tall ship at the waterfront starting Sunday. Even if you don’t book a sailing, pairing a waterfront walk with seeing a historic tall ship in the marina is a pretty great free Sunday outing.

🏖️ Jetty Island is my sunny-Sunday pick. Jetty Island Days continue through Sept. 6, so Aug. 23 is one of the final summer weekends to enjoy Everett’s sandy island. With Sunday looking dry and around the low 70s, this is probably the best nature option of the weekend. Pack a picnic, walk the beach and look for birds before heading back to the marina for food.

And one bonus for tonight, Thursday Aug. 20, because it’s too good to leave out: Music at the Marina at Port Gardner Landing runs 5–9 PM with local country artist Antwane Tyler, food trucks and a b**r garden; music is scheduled for 6:30–8:30. Free admission, and tonight’s weather should be beautiful for it.

My weekend combo for you: Sail-In Cinema Friday → Wheels on the Waterfront Saturday afternoon → Jetty Island + Adventuress/waterfront wandering Sunday.
