Most homeowners assume that having a Will or a Power of Attorney (POA) has them completely covered. But that’s actually one of the biggest real estate and estate planning misconceptions out there!

Here is the truth:
• Power of Attorney: Completely expires the moment you pass away, meaning it cannot transfer property after death.

• A Will: Outlines your wishes, but it does NOT automatically transfer title. In fact, a Will guarantees your house goes straight into probate court—which can be public, costly, and take months (or even years).
So how do you make sure your home passes directly to your loved ones without the court nightmare?

You need tools designed to bypass probate, such as:

1. A Living Trust: Keeps your estate private and transitions ownership directly to your beneficiaries.

2. An Enhanced Life Estate Deed (Lady Bird Deed): Lets you keep 100% control of your home during your lifetime while automatically transferring title upon death.

Don't leave your hardest-earned asset to chance!
