In Istanbul, Turkey, a company called Pugedon developed a vending machine that dispenses dog food for stray animals when people deposit plastic bottles for recycling. According to Bored Panda, the machine serves a dual purpose: it encourages recycling while helping feed the city’s estimated 150,000 stray dogs and cats.

The machine works by using the proceeds from recycled bottles to fund the pet food it dispenses. People drop a bottle into the top of the machine, and food is released into a tray at the bottom for animals to eat. There’s also a water bowl attached, allowing users to pour leftover water for the animals before recycling the bottle.

This eco-friendly initiative not only supports animal welfare but also raises awareness about sustainability and responsible waste management. It’s a clever example of how small actions can make a big impact, both for the environment and for vulnerable animals.
