Last night’s Evergreen candidate forum was so amazing!!!
After personally speaking with Mayoral candidate Rev Jimmy Taylor, getting the opportunity to ask him about downtown renovations, why he didn’t vote for Mayor Stallworth’s proposal and his own renovation proposals, like the ADC, I must still wholeheartedly support the re-election campaign of Mayor Stanley Stallworth, Esquire.
Why? Because Rev. Taylor’s proposal to condemn buildings and make the owners demolish them is a big ask/plan. I do believe that purchasing those buildings is the better option.
Not only could we outsource their demolishing (and potentially generate capital), we would then OWN the land, and could either sell it or develop a project that eliminates the eye sore issue, beautifying our downtown and giving the citizens of Evergreen another useful resource: a park; gathering place; etc.
It would be, in my humble opinion, a more viable plan to attract new business.
I thank Rev. Taylor for speaking with me personally. And while I still fully support Mayor Stallworth, I hope that in the spirit of brotherly love, our gift from our Heavenly Father and the love for our city and its betterment, that we can all move forward responsibly beginning August 27th!!!
