You think you can't afford to live near the beach on Oahu?! Think again!!

Yes, Kailua and Hawaii Kai have oceanfront homes that push $3 million. But that's not the whole picture.

First: Ewa Beach. You're 10–15 minutes from Ko Olina's lagoons and the Kapolei coastline. Median home price is still under $750K for a single-family home — newer construction, great schools, and a neighborhood families are choosing on purpose.

Second: Kaneohe. Windward side — minutes from Kailua Beach, without the Kailua price tag. More space, more green, and median prices meaningfully lower than the coast.

Third: Pearl City and Aiea. Not oceanfront, but 15 minutes from the harbor and central to everything. For buyers who want accessibility without the coastal premium, this area delivers.

A family I know bought in Ewa Beach when everyone told them the market was too hot. Five years later, their equity paid for their kids' college.

In 2019, the median home price in Ewa Beach was around $600,000. People were calling it a bubble. "Wait for the crash," they said.
