Sometimes deals take a while. Let me take you back in time to 2018. I was sitting at Dunkin’ Donuts meeting with a woman who was thinking about getting into a real estate. I finish up my meeting and the woman sitting at the table next to me leans over and says I’m sorry to eavesdrop but are you in real estate, we are thinking about selling our house. We did have it her house on the market at that point but it was winter time and she has a super steep driveway. They decide to take it off the market and try again later. Well life happens, her son has some health issues and moves in with them. Her husband unfortunately passes away. Around May of last year, Bette calls me again and the house has become too much for her to maintain. She talked to one of my retirement planning friends, got some advice on what kind of transition she wanted me make and decided how she was going to enjoy her retirement. There were lots of starting and stopping. Deciding to sell the house you lived in for 30 years is a hard decision and one I don’t take lightly. After a little bit of a bumpy start, (Fannie and Freddie won’t finance two house on two different parcels) we found a great cash buyer who closed on her home. Congrats Bette! Enjoy retirement!!

Spent the last few days in Harrisburg for the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors® Spring Business Meetings, Board of Directors Meeting, and Hill Day — and I’m coming home grateful, energized, and reminded why advocacy matters so much in our industry.

Real estate is more than contracts, closings, and sold signs. It’s protecting private property rights, advocating for homeownership, supporting fair housing, and making sure the voices of homeowners, buyers, sellers, and Realtors® are heard at every level.

It was an honor to stand alongside Realtors® from across Pennsylvania, meet with legislators, discuss the issues impacting our communities, and continue learning how we can better serve our clients and our profession.

I’m proud to be part of an industry that shows up, speaks up, and works together to protect the dream of homeownership. 🏡

Thank you to PAR, our leadership, and everyone who helped make these meetings so meaningful. Now back home to keep putting that advocacy into action for NEPA. 💙

🏡 Congratulations, David!

This closing was truly the end of an era. After more than 50 years in the Klaproth family, this home is officially ready for its next chapter.

There is something so special about a house that has held decades of memories, milestones, laughter, family gatherings, and love. It was an honor to help David through the sale of a home that meant so much to his family.

A huge thank you to my Aunt Denise for trusting me enough to refer her brother — referrals from family mean the world to me. 💙

To the new owners, I hope you love this home as much as the Klaproths did, and I hope it brings you just as many beautiful memories in the years ahead.

Congratulations to the Seitzingers!! Thanks for trusting me throughout the process. This house was a great stepping stone to get your back to the area and figure out where you wanted to go next. Good luck in the new house! Dave and I both spent a lot of our youth in this house with the Skurskys. It feels like the end of an era.
