My Background: I am from Chennai, India. in Chemistry, married my husband and we moved to Pennsylvania in August, 2000. I was working as a Quality Assurance Chemist at Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Health, before starting my career as a full-time real estate agent. I live in the Downingtown area of Chester County. My Initial Involvement in Real Estate: I understand that buying your primary home is a big step for any person or family. We went through that process in 2003 when we purchased our first home which was built in Mechanicsburg, PA. In that process, I learned that the trust clients put in their agent is truly proportional to the care and competence the agent shows their clients. We were fortunate to have a great agent. Due to my research and analytical mindset, I soon found that I enjoyed the rigorous steps involved in the home buying process. When we moved to Downingtown, we experienced the selling of our house and the buying of another house. As I understood and enjoyed the process, my husband and I tried to sell ourselves to save money. From this experience, I came to understand the importance of listing with a full-time, career-oriented agent to sell successfully, for the best value and with the least amount of stress. Also, when we bought our current house in Downingtown, I found out that a buyer’s agent truly represents you and works for you while the broker for the seller pays your agent. It is clear that having a full-time, relationship-oriented buyer agent when buying real estate is THE WAY TO GO. My Involvement in Investment Real Estate: My interest in real estate was initially a hobby and soon we bought more properties. Our first investment educated me with many facts of real estate ownership, including investment analysis, property management and the difference between owning a single family home and a condominium. We sold the condominium property and invested again, this time in land and built a duplex investment property. Needless to say, more learning took place, such as how the mortgage process works for investment properties, commercial loan options, income calculations to purchase the right investment, effects on tax returns etc. Next we bought a ‘foreclosed” (bank owned) property. I gained more knowledge of many other different concepts of the real estate business. I clearly saw how my interest in real estate was turning into a success story due to my analytical and research oriented mind set. I KNEW I WAS READY TO TAKE THIS UP AS MY PROFESSION. Licensed Real Estate Agent: After taking courses and successfully passing the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission’s examination to be granted a license, I did my research to select the right broker to work with. I am so glad I found RE/MAX Action Associates. After meeting with Jim Wagner (Broker) and Neal Baldwin (Manager) I know I am with the right company.
