🏡 Good news for homebuyers and sellers!

A landmark federal housing law has been enacted with the goal of making housing more affordable and increasing the supply of homes across the country.

Some of the key benefits include:
• Encouraging the construction of more homes to help ease inventory shortages.
• Expanding opportunities for first-time homebuyers.
• Supporting veterans and military families with housing initiatives.
• Reducing barriers that can slow new housing development.
• Strengthening programs that help communities address local housing needs.

While these changes won’t happen overnight, this legislation is an important step toward improving affordability and creating more opportunities for buyers and sellers in the years ahead.

📢 Alaska Real Estate Update

18 AAC 50.081 — the regulation that was requiring an energy rating to sell a home starting in 2026— has officially been repealed.

Sellers are no longer required to obtain an energy rating as part of a real estate transaction.
