Having had shoulder surgery 2 days before Thanksgiving, I have been home bound most of this month. The best part of this is seeing all of the decorations around me that Sarah pours her heart into every year we are at home for Christmas. Her collection of Santa’s singing and dancing, then there is the gratitude of knowing why we celebrate Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season. Grateful is all I am saying.

Today was a much better day for auntie. She had family and friends to love ❤️ on her heavy. Yesterday she had family and friends and she didn’t talk to us at all. I guess she just didn’t want to be bothered yesterday. Grateful she was fully engaged today and enjoy all the attention. I will adap in her journey . I am just grateful one day at a time.

We are not as chipper today. Says she is ready to get out of this store. I’am just tired and I want to go home so I can go to work. Aunt Reba worked for Atlanta Housing for many years until her husband got sick. So she has started back to work (in her mind the Assisted Living Center where she lives,is the old Herdon Homes where she last worked). This journey is comical, sad and always uncertain from day to day. I just love as hard and often as I can. It’s strange how she remembers things from years past but can’t remember she is in the hospital because she fractured her leg. Her husband has been dead for several years yet in her mind he visits often and has married a big woman. Although often she asks me have I checked her house. Where are her car keys and you got all my money so give me a couple hundred. I pray daily for the strength patients an endurance Gods will not mine.
