Well, it looks like we could be facing another stormy day in central Illinois.🌪️
Danny Schahrer - Country Financial shared these great tips to help you and your family stay prepared and safe. Take a few minutes to review them—you never know when they might come in handy!

With the potential weather threat today, here’s how my family is preparing:

1) We have a video documenting every room of our house. Opening every drawer to show the contents, etc. Hoping we never need that video, but in case of a total loss, it’s extremely helpful in filling out the itemized list of all property so we can be properly compensated for everything. (Please make one!)

2) Securing all outdoor furniture as best we can. Not necessarily because the furniture is that important to us, but so wind doesn’t pick it up and blow it into our neighbors house.

3) Charging phones/portable chargers and replacing batteries in power station and flashlights.

4) Prepping our basement for the kids to sleep there. Including bringing their bike helmets down. Feels dramatic, but better safe than sorry. Making this as fun and stress-free for them as possible.

5) Most importantly, praying this is all for nothing. Praying a hedge of protection over our community and every family in it.

We made our final cookie delivery for the year to the staff at the Upper Elementary 🍪.

Just a small way to say thank you for everything they do each and every day.
So thankful my daughter was surrounded by such amazing people for the last two years.

Start times moved up 1 hour for tomorrow’s FALS Cup season opener at the Fairbury Speedway

Fairbury Speedway officials announced that start times for opening night Saturday May 2nd, at America’s Dirt Track, have been moved up one hour to maximize the best racing program we can put together.

“We have seen this before at the Fairbury Speedway”, Owner Matt Curl conveys. “The grounds are perfect, the track is perfect, the excitement in the air for opening night is great and we just want to make sure we have the best program to allow our drivers, fans, and sponsors the best possible night of racing with cooler temps that we are anticipating.”

The Fairbury Speedway will kick off its 80th season of weekly racing with FALS Cup action in the DIRTcar Late Model division paying $2,500 to win presented by Varsitee Screenprinting, DIRTcar Modifieds paying $1,500 to win presented by Aftershock Decals & Design, DIRTcar Stock Cars paying $750 to win, and the new addition DIRTcar Pro-Mods paying $400 to win.

Drivers finishing in the top 10 in points in 2025 will have food available and can pick up their trophies from 3:30–4:30pm in the Floral Hall building, located across from the new office building.
