We’re hiring at The BrickKicker! 👷‍♂️

Our home inspection company is looking for a Field Runner / Inspection Assistant to help support our inspectors during busy days.

This is a great role for someone who likes being on the road, staying active, and seeing a lot of different homes around the area.

What the job looks like:
• Driving between inspection sites and local labs
• Dropping off water samples and radon monitors
• Bringing equipment to inspectors when needed
• Helping move ladders or basic gear
• Occasional quick supply runs

A company vehicle is provided during work hours.

Pay is $20–$26/hr depending on experience.

The schedule is flexible and based around inspection days.

This role tends to work really well for:
• Firefighters on their off days
• College students
• Someone interested in construction or real estate
• Someone who just likes being out and about instead of sitting behind a desk

We serve Chittenden, Franklin, and surrounding counties.

Wrapped trim can look clean and maintenance-free from the outside—but what you can’t see is just as important as what you can.

The first photo shows aluminum-wrapped window trim in good condition. The second shows what happens when even a small section of that wrap fails: water sneaks behind the metal, gets trapped, and quietly destroys the underlying wood. The wrap hides the damage, so homeowners often don’t know there’s a problem until the wood is severely rotted.

💧 This is why it’s so important to keep all sealants, caulking, and seams in wrapped trim properly maintained.
Gaps at corners, missing caulk, or loose pieces of wrap create direct pathways for moisture intrusion—and once water gets behind the metal, it can stay there for a long time.

🔎 Takeaways:
• Inspect caulking and seams around wrapped trim every season.
• Look for separation, cracking, or loose edges.
• Reseal as needed to prevent hidden moisture damage.
• If you see staining or movement in the wrap, it’s worth having it evaluated.

A few minutes of maintenance can prevent hundreds (or thousands) in repairs. If you’re ever unsure, having a professional take a look can give you peace of mind.
