What do you get when you put a group of Rotarians, some trash bags, and a very messy creek together? A pretty productive Saturday morning!

Members of the Rotary Club of San Rafael Harbor joined the Mission San Rafael Club for a Coastal Cleanup along Mahon Creek in downtown San Rafael. There was a LOT of trash, but it was rewarding to see the difference we could make by simply showing up and pitching in.

This is what I love about Rotary. Good people, good community, and a lot of opportunities to give back. ❤️

Something interesting is happening in the Marin market right now.

So far this year, 1,458 single-family homes have sold, and about 15% of those, roughly 219 homes, sold before ever hitting the open market. No sign in the yard, no online listing, just quietly marketed between agents.

Here's the part that really stands out. The average sales price on those homes is almost 3 million dollars, well above what most homes are trading for publicly.

So why would a seller skip the exposure? Discretion, privacy, and speed. For a lot of Marin sellers, especially with higher end properties, that trade off is starting to make real sense.

Many years ago, I was introduced to the Lighthouse Restaurant at their original downtown San Rafael location. I remember it well, great food and one of the friendliest owners around.

That location has since closed, but Lighthouse has grown to four spots throughout Marin, and last night I checked out the newest one, which opened just four months ago in Sausalito, right where the Seafood Peddler used to be.

Same fun, friendly atmosphere I've come to expect, and the food didn't disappoint. I'll definitely be back.
