Long & Foster Real Estate Inc. has a partnership with China’s largest real estate portal, Juwai.com, to connect home buyers from mainland China with sellers in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. The National Association of Realtors says mainland Chinese buyers make up the largest foreign buyer group in the U.S.
“Our buyers are seeking property for investment and occupation on the Eastern seaboard,” said Juwai.com co-CEO Andrew Taylor. “They like to purchase in the U.S. because they can own the homes outright, which is not possible in China.”

Maryland is the second-most popular state for Chinese real estate buyers, behind North Carolina. Virginia ranks No. 5 and the District is No. 6.
