A little running update... I've officially signed up for the Rock and Rock Half Marathon in March, and I just wrapped up week 5 of the training. A couple of weeks into my training, I quickly realized that reaching or surpassing 10k daily steps was super easy on the days that I went on a run. But my average daily steps for other days were around 5k.
Driven by the silly satisfaction I got when the step-tracking circle changes from incomplete and blue to a full green circle upon reaching my daily goal, I set out to get at least 10k steps a day. That was 4 weeks ago. I can't believe I've traveled the equivalent of 200 miles in just 4 weeks! Only 50 of those miles were from running. Interestingly, I believe the extra walking has made running a bit easier as my body is used to more consistent movement.
I have been intentional to take a 15-30 minute outdoor walk break during the day. Other than that, I walk around the kitchen while brewing my coffee, walk while warming my lunch, walk while I'm on the phone, walk to the office printer instead of using the one under my desk, park further away.. you get the idea.
