A year ago. It started as a conversation with first-time home buyers Mike and Linda. A simple "how to." How does one go about buying your first home? In a very competitive market, you have to stack the deck in your favor. We put a plan of action together based on their needs. We all knew it would take a while to execute fully, but we decided we were all in for the long haul.
Getting finances in order was the first step. The second was for them to create a vision for themselves based on their budget. They really needed to see the specifics of their ideal new home. What it looked like, what it felt like, how they would live in it. Sounds "woo-woo" I know but it's a very important step to achieving success. I always say that if you can picture it, you'll recognize it when you see it. They did just that. It took 8 months to hone the vision. We saw a lot of houses and discussed many locations. There were a few failed offers along the way, common in this market. They were prepared for that, and they stayed the course. In the end, they got a home that seemed to be waiting just for them to come along.
A pleasure to represent Mike and Linda in the purchase of this wonderful home in Wilton. A fantastic couple who were a joy to work with!! Also, I got to work with my longtime colleague Elizabeth Tokarz Coyle who was instrumental in getting this home to the closing table. Our favorite attorney Descera Daigle wrapped it up in a legal bow. An awesome team.
