BUYING A HOME IN THE BAY AREA? HERE’S WHAT SMART BUYERS SHOULD KNOW FIRST.

The Bay Area real estate market moves quickly — and honestly, the buyers who prepare early almost always make better decisions.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see with first-time homebuyers in Contra Costa County and Solano County is assuming they should start touring homes before understanding what they truly qualify for financially.

Before falling in love with a property:
✔ speak with a lender
✔ understand your numbers
✔ know your comfort level monthly
✔ think carefully about needs vs. wants

And importantly:
Getting pre-qualified is NOT the same thing as being fully pre-approved for a home loan.

There’s a major difference.

The strongest buyers enter the market already understanding:
• budget
• loan options
• estimated monthly costs
• taxes & insurance
• realistic expectations

And frankly, that changes the entire experience.
