FAIRFIELD — Her formal title is more familiar, but Annie Vogelpohl says she works as a problem solver. The real estate agent’s roots in the business run deep, as does her love of the business.
“I’ve always been drawn to do more,” Vogelpohl said. She started in 1979 – before personal computers, cellphones and other now commonplace technology, Vogelpohl said. All the additions in communication can
benefit buyers and sellers, she said, but nothing can replace seeing a home yourself with a Realtor. What you see on a computer about a property, she said, is not always what the land is like.
“Some of the pictures are extremely deceiving,” Vogelphol said. She likes the challenge of solving problems that can arise in real estate sales and said one of the secrets of success is to surround yourself with successful people – including expert lenders and home inspectors. Vogelpohl said the market is recovering from what was the worst condition in decades. Her belief in the value of Realtors is demonstrated by what Vogelpohl did when seeking to sell her home: she hired a real estate agent. Attorneys don’t represent themselves in court, surgeons don’t operate on themselves and a Realtor selling her house hires a real estate agent, Vogelpohl said. Her interest in real estate extends to interest in the sale of celebrity homes.
“I love seeing that,” she said of accounts about Hollywood stars and others buying and selling homes. Christina Acosta, a client, calls Vogelpohl, “a consummate professional in her field.”
“She draws on a deep experience, vitality, and a business acumen that others simply do not possess,” Acosta said. “Her worth as a Realtor is proved by the many professionals who work with and for her, and who speak so highly of her.”
Every time she was asked who her agent was, Acosta said she realized that her colleagues recognize Vogelpohl as an exemplar, Acosta said.
“They often replied to my answer, ‘Oh, I love Annie.’ ”
