Noris is a wonderful example of what hospitality is all about — dedication, pride in her work, genuine care for others, and a commitment to making every guest feel welcome.

This week, Residence Inn Newport Middletown had the pleasure of hosting October’s Coffee Hour, made possible through our continued partnership with the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce and the Rhode Island Small Business Development Center.

It was wonderful to welcome Chamber members and local business leaders into the hotel, catch up with familiar faces, make new connections — and share a look at our newly transformed space.

Across our portfolio of hotels, there are so many journeys and stories we have the privilege of touching along the way.

Recently, our Hampton Inn Raynham became one small stop in a pretty incredible one.

Kyndal Ray Edwards Exclusive has walked more than 11,000 miles across America carrying a simple but powerful message:

You Matter.

His journey is focused on mental health awareness, addiction recovery and su***de prevention, and while passing through the Taunton/Raynham area, our hotel had the opportunity to welcome Kyndal and host a community meet & greet.

It’s a reminder of one of the things we love most about hospitality: you never quite know whose journey you’ll get to be a small part of.

Our Annual First Bristol GM & DOS Meeting brought ownership and leaders from across our hotel portfolio together for a day focused on connection, collaboration, and continued growth.

We started together, moved into breakout sessions to share ideas and tackle opportunities, and wrapped up the day at Topgolf for some friendly competition and team building.

One of the strengths of our portfolio is the experience and perspective our leaders bring to the table—and the willingness to share it. When we come together, we learn from one another, challenge each other, and ultimately make every one of our hotels stronger.

Some traditions are worth carrying forward.

Since 1955, the Kempenaar family has welcomed and honored members of the U.S. Naval War College community through an annual family clambake—a tradition spanning generations and rooted in hospitality, gratitude, and service.

This week, the Karam and Kempenaar families once again came together in Middletown to continue that tradition and celebrate this year’s Naval War College graduates, including officers representing the United States and nations from around the world.

As Rocky Kempenaar welcomed guests and First Bristol Corporation Founder and Chairman Jim Karam reflected on the many years they’ve shared this tradition, it was a meaningful reminder of what community can look like: gathering around a table, building relationships, honoring service, and showing appreciation for those who lead.

For First Bristol and the Karam family, being part of this longstanding tradition is especially meaningful. We are grateful for the relationship and partnership our families have built over the years, and to the Kempenaar family for welcoming us into a tradition that has meant so much to their family and the Naval War College community for generations.

It is a privilege to help carry that tradition forward.

Hospitality is, and always will be, a relationship business.

Recently, some of our First Bristol sales teams came together for a day of sales calls, new connections, and collaboration.

While each hotel has its own market, we succeed by working as one portfolio. We share ideas, celebrate wins, learn from each other, and support one another every step of the way. That collaborative culture keeps us growing and helps our hotels continue raising the bar.
