Before plastic 2-liters, this was how carbonation was delivered straight to your doorstep. 🫧📦

These are vintage soda siphons—heavy glass seltzer bottles fitted with metal spouts—packed into an original wooden delivery crate from Excelsior Beverages, formerly based right out of Newark, New Jersey (404 So. 7th St.).

Here is why these functional pieces of history are so unique:

• Built for Pressure: The glass on these bottles is extraordinarily thick and heavy to safely contain high-level carbonation without shattering.

• The Siphon System: Unlike standard bottles, soda siphons keep the liquid inside under pressure. Pressing the metal trigger releases a powerful jet of seltzer while keeping the remaining soda inside completely carbonated down to the last drop.

• Local Delivery: Back in the early-to-mid 20th century, local seltzer men would deliver crates like this directly to homes and business, swapping out empty bottles for freshly charged ones.

Today, original seltzer bottles and labeled town crates are highly sought-after antiques, blending industrial history with classic vintage decor.

🎺 THIS PIECE! 💛 Adding a little mid-century magic to the feed with this rare vintage Cubist Jazz Band sculpture by Austin Productions.

Founded in Brooklyn in 1952, Austin Prod made a name for themselves using heavy “Durastone” (a crushed stone/plaster blend) to bring museum-worthy art into 1960s & 70s homes. They closed their doors and destroyed all their original molds in 2009—so when you find a piece like this, especially in this vibrant pop-art yellow glaze? You snap it up! 🎷✨

Catch this exact piece at our upcoming estate sale in Union, NJ!

🗓️ October 16th & 17th
