In a recent Associated Press article, Fargo resident Lene shared what so many individuals and families are experiencing every day:

“I’m just trying to keep a roof over my head, but it’s getting more and more difficult. I don’t like to live in fear, and yet sometimes it jumps in there.”

A law requiring that most materials in federally funded affordable housing are made in America is fully kicking in. But it is wreaking havoc on affordable developments.

Beyond Shelter, Inc. (BSI) is excited to share that two of our senior housing developments were selected for funding as part of the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency’s latest statewide commitments!

BSI received support for projects in two North Dakota communities:

🏡 Harvest Acres – Fargo
• 39 new senior housing units
• Supported by LIHTC, Housing Trust Fund, HOME, and HIF resources
• Total development: $15.6 million

🏡 Buffalo Manor Apartments – Jamestown
• 39 new senior housing units
• Supported by LIHTC, HOME, and HIF funding
• Total development: $16 million

We are deeply grateful for NDHFA’s partnership and continued investment in expanding affordable housing options for older adults across the state. These projects bring us another step closer to ensuring seniors can access safe, stable, and affordable homes in the communities they know and love.

A project at River View Heights and two new build affordable housing projects were selected by the Moorhead City Council to receive Statewide Affordable Housing Aid.

Churches United is nearing the end of construction on Silver Linings Apartments, which will offer permanent housing for once-homeless seniors in 36 units.

We're thrilled to share that Beyond Shelter, Inc. has secured $2.7 million ($400,000 from Wells Fargo and $2.3M from Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines) to expand affordable housing options in our community! 🏡 This achievement is made possible through the generous support of Wells Fargo and from approximately 14 Member Banks of the FHLBDM, whose commitment to affordable housing is creating real opportunities for families in need.
