Housing stability should never come with fear.
In a recent Associated Press article, Fargo resident Lene shared what so many individuals and families are experiencing every day:
“I’m just trying to keep a roof over my head, but it’s getting more and more difficult. I don’t like to live in fear, and yet sometimes it jumps in there.”
At Beyond Shelter, Inc., this is exactly why we do what we do.
The article also highlights the real challenges nonprofit affordable housing developers face. Our CEO, Dan Madler, was quoted as he works to move forward on a 36‑unit affordable housing development, intended for neighbors like Lene, while navigating construction delays tied to federal requirements.
Behind every delay is a person waiting. Behind every project is a mission.
We believe housing is more than four walls—it is safety, dignity, and peace of mind. We remain committed to Impacting Lives through the Power of Housing, and to advocating for systems that allow affordable homes to be built when communities need them most.
