Fifteen years ago this week, we picked up the keys to our very first home right here in Fargo. We were first time buyers with so much hope and honestly, no clue what was ahead.

Since then, these walls have held it all. We raised our girls here. We celebrated birthdays, holidays, and Taco Tuesdays. We hosted the people we love and built a lifetime of memories we will carry with us always.

Working as a Realtor has given me an even deeper appreciation for what home truly means. It is never just a house. It is where life unfolds, where the real moments happen.

Looking back, I am so thankful we took that leap of faith. That first home became the setting for so many of our biggest milestones, and fifteen years later, I understand more than ever just how meaningful that journey was.

Here is to fifteen beautiful years and all the memories they hold.

I totally understand why first-time buyers want to start by looking at homes🏡. That's the exciting part, right?
But here's something I wish more people knew before they started their search.

Without a pre-approval, you don't actually know what you can afford. You could spend weeks falling in love with homes that are outside your budget. Or worse, you could find the perfect home and lose it to another buyer who came in ready when you weren't.

Pre-approval takes just a few days. It doesn't lock you into anything. And it gives you a real number to work with so your search actually makes sense from the very beginning.

One of the things I enjoy doing outside of real estate is volunteering at the bookstore at the Fargo Public Library. 📚❤️

As someone who loves books, it's a wonderful way to spend a few hours, meet great people, and help support our local library. There's something special about seeing books find new homes and new readers.

And every now and then, I come across a hidden gem on the shelves, which is always a fun bonus! 😊

If you're a book lover, it's definitely worth stopping by sometime.
