🏠Licensing Process for Short-Term Rentals
Short-term rental operators can begin applying for licensing on May 1, 2026. Licenses will be issued for the period of July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027.
On Nov. 3, 2025 the West Fargo City Commission approved Ordinance 1254 to establish regulations for the operation of short-term rental properties within City limits, with an effective date of July 1, 2026.
Applicant properties will go through a Safety and Compliance Check and be screened for safe occupancy levels.
This application process will ensure that all short-term rentals, such as AirBnB and VRBO properties are safe to operate, are paying applicable taxes and fees, and that owners can be contacted by the West Fargo Police Department, West Fargo Fire Department, or West Fargo Building Inspectors.
