One of the biggest things I see in real estate is something called the “Ostrich Effect.”

It’s when people avoid things they know they should probably look at, because it feels overwhelming or stressful, so they bury their heads in the sand and avoid it altogether. I see this all the time with buyers and sellers.

It usually looks like:
• Not really knowing what your home would sell for right now
• Putting off repairs because it feels like too much work
• Waiting to make a move because the market feels confusing
• Avoiding conversations about finances because you're "not ready yet"

I get it. But avoiding it doesn’t change anything. It just delays it.

When you finally ask the questions you’ve been putting off, you get a lot more clarity than you expected:
• You may have more equity than you thought you had
• The numbers might be more doable than you expected
• There are options you didn’t even realize you had

The sooner you understand your situation, the more options you have. Information really does change everything.

Farmington is changing. Fast.
New apartments are going up, trees are coming down, and the town we've known for years looks a little different every time we turn around.

I know a lot of us have feelings about that, and those feelings are valid. Growth isn't always comfortable, and it's okay to be unsettled by what's changing while still believing in where this place is headed.

But here's what I keep coming back to: I'd rather live in a town that's growing than one that's fading.

The question isn't whether Farmington changes, it's how we shape that change together.

One of the best restaurants here in Farmington is Costa Vida - seriously!

If you've never been, let me introduce you to this locally owned and managed chain (the owners are so sweet). What makes Costa Vida different than others is that they source the highest-quality ingredients and make all of their recipes from scratch every single day. I guess you could say they make food that makes you feel nourished, not weighed down, and I'm all about that.

From burritos to quesadillas to tacos to nachos to enchiladas and more, this place serves up the yummiest of Mexican cuisine!

My personal favorite is the sweet pork salad with an ICED COLD Diet Coke (don't you dare skimp out on the "iced" portion of that sentence.) I talked with the owners, and they said their sweet pork takes 24 hours to prepare to make it perfectly sweet and impossibly tender. And honestly, that's why it's so dang good. Even the pickiest of kid eaters will love it.

And speaking of kids, my kids love this spot. They get to build their own meal, and they usually eat every bite of it (that's how I know they actually love it.) They're always asking to come here, and it doesn't bother me one bit because I also love it!

So, if you're needing a quick lunch spot that's both delicious and nutritious, definitely stop at Costa Vida. You won't regret it ☺️
