​While wood is a great alternative to expensive propane or oil, a chimney fire can cost far more than money—it can cost irreplaceable memories and your family's safety.
​Here’s your quick hearth checklist:
​🧹 Inspect & Clean: Always have a pro inspect and sweep your chimney before the first use.
​🪵 Know Your Wood: Learn proper draft control and stick to seasoned firewood—avoid unseasoned wood that causes dangerous creosote build-up.
​🪵 Use Creosote Logs: Burn a creosote-sweeping log periodically throughout the winter based on the package instructions.
