Sometimes the most powerful messages are found in the most unexpected places.

On the side of a weathered, boardedup building in middle island sat a quote often attributed to Abraham Lincoln:

"I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him."

It made me stop for a minute.
