✅ Fayetteville Approves $13.6M McArthur Road Sports Complex

🗒️ Fayetteville NC — A major sports development is officially moving forward after Fayetteville City Council approved a $13.6 million agreement on April 8 to begin construction of the McArthur Road Sports Field Complex. The project is expected to expand recreation options while attracting regional tournaments to the area.

🏗️ City leaders selected Group III Management to carry out the project, clearing the way for construction to begin. The complex will be built between Tiffany Pines and the I-295 junction along McArthur Rd on approximately 70 acres of land secured through a 50-year lease with Fort Bragg finalized in 2022.

The complex is planned with several key elements:
⚾ 12 baseball fields designed for local play and large tournaments
⚾ A central facility with restrooms, concessions, office space, and an open-air pavilion
⚾ A maintenance building to support ongoing operations
⚾ An additional concession and restroom area on the northern side of the parking area

💰 The project is funded through the 2016 parks and recreation bond approved by voters, part of a broader effort to grow Fayetteville’s recreational footprint and attract visitors through sports.

🎯 City officials say the development is intended to serve local families while positioning Fayetteville as a stronger destination for competitive events and tourism.

🤔 Do you think this complex will bring more positive growth, visitors, and impact to this side of Fayetteville?

🇺🇸 All American Week 2026 Canceled At Fort Bragg

🪖 Fort Bragg NC — The 82nd Airborne Division has officially canceled All American Week 2026, one of the most recognized military traditions in the country. The event is expected to return in 2027.

📅 The annual celebration typically brings together active-duty paratroopers, veterans, and the local community for division runs, memorial ceremonies, and competitions that highlight the legacy of the “All American” Division.

🌍 The cancellation comes as elements of the division have been deployed overseas, with troops supporting operations tied to the ongoing conflict involving Iran in recent months. Reports indicate hundreds to thousands of paratroopers have been sent to the Middle East as part of rapid-response missions.

🤝 While officials have not publicly detailed all operational reasons, the shift reflects the division’s global mission and readiness posture, often requiring rapid deployment across the world.

🇺🇸 Fort Bragg and the Fayetteville community will now look ahead to 2027, when the event is expected to return and once again bring together soldiers, families, and supporters of the airborne legacy.
