Today I had the pleasure of attending the Midtown Atlanta Rotary Club luncheon as the guest of my longtime friend and ministry associate, Juanita. We go back more than 25 years to our Louisiana days, so I was especially happy to accept her invitation.
Great lunch, great networking, and a great opportunity to hear from well-known community speaker .

And guess what caught this real estate lady’s attention? 😂

Well…this 5K did NOT go according to plan! 😂

I showed up this morning ready to complete my Sickle Cell 5K and — it was really HOT! 🔥🥵

A few of us were talking about how this year felt even hotter than last year.

I made it past Mile 2, about 100 ft, when the day suddenly took a turn....... something much more important than my finish time.

A fellow participant experienced a medical emergency. Several of us stopped, stayed with him and waited until emergency personnel arrived to provide further care.

By that point, my race was pretty much over. And somehow I ended up getting a ride back courtesy of East Point's finest. 🚔😂

So, no official time for Tish this year.

But I DID get my medal! 🏅
And you know what? I'm perfectly okay with that.

I didn't come out there because I needed a race time. I came because families living with sickle cell need people willing to show up.

That's what this whole journey has been about.

Thank you to EVERYONE who donated, encouraged me, shared my posts and supported this effort. And guess what? Donations are STILL coming in! ❤️
I'm waiting on the final tally, and I can't wait to tell you what WE did.

Stay tuned… because we're not finished yet.

Did you know… you don’t need 20% down to buy a home? 🏡
