During holidays, I always get to reflect on the journey. From learning, to growing fast, to getting hit hard by the crash, and rebuilding to what it is now.

I’m thankful those years shaped the experience and relationships that let me impact the city of Fayetteville.

I’ve watched Fayetteville grow over the last three decades into what it is today, and with Trilith and the USA Soccer headquarters rising, I’m glad to see where it’s headed.

Every season in this business swings with good days and bad days. I always tell people up front I’m not perfect, but I care deeply about the work and the experience of the customer. That principle is what’s carried the business forward, even when the market didn’t.

Most homeowners never see this part, but checking the levels of your floors is critical.

Truth is… no floor in any custom home is ever perfectly flat, even with the best crews, but the tolerance is so tight the naked eye won’t catch it.

So here’s how we handle it. Instead of crawling room to room with a level like the old days, a laser gets set in the middle of the house. It shoots a clean line across the whole floor, and we use a measuring stick to see exactly where things are high or low.

And if it’s off?
If a spot is high, the framers shave it down.
If a spot is low, they fill it with the right material to bring it back up.
Either way, the goal is to get everything back within the tolerance so the finishes sit clean and nothing moves or cracks later.

If you ever build a custom home, make sure this step isn’t skipped. It protects the whole project.
