The Original Browns Point Salmon Bake

Every even year, the first week of August, Browns Point comes alive for one of Washington's oldest community traditions: The Original Browns Point Salmon Bake. Hosted by the Browns Point Improvement Club (BPIC) since 1946, it's one of the longest continually running salmon bakes in the state. Families from Browns Point, Dash Point, and NE Tacoma head to the BPIC grounds next to Browns Point Lighthouse Park for fresh salmon cooked the traditional way over alder fire pits, plus corn on the cob, rolls, salad, live music, and a local artist market.

David Berg has lived in Browns Point for years and served as a former president of the Browns Point Improvement Club, the same organization that's kept this tradition alive for almost eighty years. He's also the Managing Broker and Owner of Homes on the Sound, a real estate team he runs with his wife Courtney Berg, helping neighbors buy and sell homes throughout Browns Point, Dash Point, and NE Tacoma.

For David and Courtney, the salmon bake is one of the best weekends of the summer, and a good reminder of why they built Homes on the Sound around these neighborhoods in the first place. OFFER ACCEPTED - THIRD TIME’S A CHARM! This is one where our buyers fell in love, wrote an offer and it didn’t get accepted. A little time went by, they continued searching in the meantime, but decided to give it a shot again…offer not accepted 😔. Two months later, it’s still on the market, after touring other homes, we decide to revisit it and low & behold…it still felt like it was THE ONE. So…we submitted our third offer and it was accepted!! When you know, you know!
