Things I do to make my open houses lovely 🌸
1. Make sure I have all documents, information, and goodies easily accessible, most often, in the kitchen.
2. Have something for guests to take and/or eat. For Mother’s Day weekend, I grabbed carnations for the moms and flower cookies from for all.
3. Have a printout of other listings in the area for easy comparison and information.
4. Blinds! Drapes! Open purposefully, and they better all be even!
5. Speaking of lighting… light it up! All the lights, especially decorative ones, on. Any motion sensor ones I let activate as intended.
6. Bring in trash cans and hide any unnecessary yard clutter.
7. Make sure signage for the open house is set up and easy to follow.
8. Booties for shoe covers are fully stocked to reduce dirt being trekked in. More comfortable than having to take off shoes, especially for those who struggle with mobility.
8. Show off those features! Fireplaces ON. Too warm? Bump the thermostat down a touch. Worth it for 2 hours of ambiance. ✨
9. Make sure the entryway is clear of rocks or any landscaping debris.
10. Be ready and waiting with a smile (corny, but accurate).
