Looks like fall is making its presence known this weekend! Friday will be warm, with highs around 77° across Delaware, but Saturday brings a big temperature drop into the mid-50s. The good news? Sunday looks sunny and cool, just right for getting outside.
Upstate, Halloween fun starts Friday with Boo at the Zoo at the Brandywine Zoo. On Saturday, browse handmade art, crafts, and specialty foods at Hagley Museum and Library's annual Craft Fair, catch "Dear Evan Hansen" at the University of Delaware, or head to Wilmington's riverfront for the Kalmar Nyckel's Halloween Ghost Ship, complete with ghost stories, pumpkin painting, and tours of Delaware's Tall Ship. Mt. Cuba Center also hosts the Wild & Rooted Trail Run.
Sunday brings the second annual Nemours Children's Health Run & Walk, a chance to enjoy the grounds of Nemours Estate while supporting children's health.
Downstate, the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival brings a weekend of great music, while Lewes adds a little Halloween mystery with Ghostship Overfalls aboard the historic lightship. The Delmarva Folk Festival is also happening Friday and Saturday in Clayton.
Saturday's festivities include Zombie Fest at Hudson Fields, Brews, Boos & Broomsticks in Georgetown, and Bark on the Boards in Rehoboth, where the Delmarva DockDogs show off their impressive jumping skills.
On Sunday, enjoy Bluegrass by the Bay at the Lewes Ferry Terminal or support Easterseals at its Walk With Me & 5K Run in Long Neck.
It's a weekend that captures so much of what we enjoy about Delaware: local traditions, great music, historic places, and neighbors coming together for good causes. And with Sunday's sunshine, there's plenty of reason to spend a little extra time enjoying your favorite community or exploring a new one.
What are you looking forward to this weekend?
