We’re Cody and Treska. Two Fernandina kids who first met at FBMS & have been carrying home with us ever since.
Life has taken us through 4 different U.S. states with the Marine Corps + 3 different countries, but no matter where we’ve lived, Fernandina has always been the place we knew we’d come back to.
For almost 10 years, Cody has been building the vision for Ape-X Fitness — a gym rooted in strength, discipline, evolution, & community. Cody is a Marine, a trained firefighter, and after retirement, he plans to join Jacksonville Fire while bringing this gym to life right here at home at the same time.
Treska is a wedding & couples photographer with a love for storytelling, creativity, + capturing the people & places that mean the most. Together, we want Ape-X to be more than just a gym. We want it to be a place where people come to grow stronger, push harder, evolve daily, & feel like they belong to something.
When Cody retires in a couple years, we’ll be moving back to Fernandina permanently with our two black labs, Trooper & Rookie, and we cannot wait to finally bring Ape-X Fitness out of the dream stage & into the real world.
Until Ape-X has a physical home, this page will be where the movement starts. We’ll be sharing workouts, meal ideas, gym updates, behind-the-scenes planning, inspiration, & ideas for what we want Ape-X to look/feel like. We’ll also be asking for your opinions along the way, because this gym is being built for the community, we want you to be part of the evolution from the very beginning.
A huge part of our mission is giving back to the community that raised us, especially Fernandina Beach Middle and High School. We love this town, we love the Pirates, and we want Ape-X to be a place that pours back into the next generation.
