Hey FB Friends! Just a reminder that I'm still a Real Estate agent but I have a quick story for you on this Wednesday to explain what I do now:
I got into real estate during Covid because I wanted to HELP people find homes (at super great interest rates, remember that? haha) that were perfect for them. So I took the class, passed the test, got my credentials and met a TON of people in real estate. Unfortunately, it did not take long for me realize there are agents who want to sell you HOMES and agents who want to SELL you homes, you know what I mean?
I became disillusioned pretty quickly and felt elbowed out of the market for my lack of sales-yness.
I went back to nursing where I felt I could actually help people better, BUT I learned a lot and I kept my agent license for one reason: to help YOU. I changed my license to a referral agent.
What does that mean, you ask?
It means I want to share with YOU everything I learned. As a referral agent, I can talk to you and get a feel for what you want - where you want a home, what you want in it, and almost as importantly, what kind of person will understand your needs on your timeline and your budget. As an agent myself, other agents often present their true strengths to me, when they otherwise might say almost anything to get YOUR business. So I can refer you to a couple agents who really are exactly what you need. I can narrow down your choices, and you pick from 2-3 people I think might be able to help you!
Now you probably are thinking "Wow, Leslie's so nice, is she really just doing this out of the kindness of her heart?" Well, yes, actually, I would, but no one else would so of COURSE there is a fee involved. But guess who pays it? NOT YOU! The agent I refer you to ends up splitting a small part of their commission with me for sending them to you. And that sounds weird on first pass but wait a second - absolutely anyone I send you to splits their commission with me. It's a secret real estate thing I never knew about until I got into the biz. So I have zero incentive to send you to anyone except who will be a good fit FOR YOU. Cuz at the end of the day, it's all the same to me.
SO unless you have a friend or family member who will absolutely hunt you down in the middle of the night for not using them, it just makes sense to reach out to me before you pick an agent! It's an overwhelming process and I truly want to help make that better for you.
