Day 76: Being a Dad

Remember the video about indescribably love?

Nobody told me there were more levels coming.

Seeing him for the first time was overwhelming. A feeling I’d never felt, but I had just met him, we didn’t know each other.

Now, he smiles, he knows my voice, he can see me, he likes when I sing to him, he knows me.

2 days ago he decided he can hold his head up on his own.

He’s my son and my best friend. We’re getting to know each other…. This is a whole other level… of love.

Real talk.

George came to me a couple months ago asking what he needs to do to succeed.

He was putting the work in but not seeing the fruit of his labor.

Guess what my profound wisdom was… Keep Going.

You see, most agents fail because they want instant results. Remember, this is simple not easy. You have to stick to the plan, not for days.. for months.

George did exactly that, he kept going.

We get too attached to the “outcome” when the focus should always be the work. The rest is out of our hands.

Guess what happened. 3 under contract within a couple weeks, 2 new live listings last week.

Seems like I barely see him anymore because he’s always on appointments.

He didn’t change a thing. He just kept going.

Today he helped his buyers close on this beautiful home that appraised way over contract price!

Also, just got off the phone with him while typing this… 2 offers on one of his listings.

Work works.

Just days after this photo I would walk away from the real estate company I started.

Clean break (haha, not really) it wasn’t worth the stress to fight for what I had invested.

It was time to get back to the people business, what I do best.

No stranger to starting over, I joined and worked from home.

eXp felt like home (still here 5+ years later).

If I could go back in time I’d tell myself to keep going, keep treating people with respect, keeping aligning with good honest people…. It’s not going to be easy, but it all works out.

Sometimes the only words you need to hear… KEEP GOING!

From a few casual dates, to telling you you’re my girlfriend 🤣, to moving in and building ice caves, to travels and adventures, to asking you to marry me, to getting married, to getting pregnant, to having our beautiful boy Lou….. it’s always been you.

This version of you, momma, is my favorite.

You inspire me everyday… being a new mom is hard, but you’re a natural. Nobody cares for their family and friends like you do.

Always asking what others need first, without expecting anything in return.

You’ve made me a better person.

Last night mom and dad stepped out to celebrate Avari being a Viola Award finalist!

She was nominated as Best Local Artisan. I couldn’t be more proud! Avari really cares about the people of Flagstaff and it shines through her work. Congrats babe! You are an inspiration.
