Friends and family: September is World Alzheimer's Month. We have been working with a family and their cousin who has "young-onset" Alzheimer's. She is only 53 years old! Her house needs to sell to help fund the expenses of keeping her placed in an Alzheimer's care facility. We're excited to announce that we have purchased an important property just south of Jackson Park in Hendersonville!

This land has so much potential. For one thing, it will allow us to extend the Oklawaha Greenway. Right now, the greenway stops in Jackson Park. This property is part of the land we need to link it with Blue Ridge Community College.

For another, this land has vital wetlands and potential to restore more. This property continues the wetlands that make Jackson Park such a hotspot for birding. And our goal is to restore a natural floodplain, bringing back wetlands that were probably drained in the past.
