Paul F. Napolitan

Paul F. Napolitan died on September 22, 2026, in Frenchtown, New Jersey. He was born on March 27, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York.

Paul built a highly successful career as a reinsurance broker, founding and running his own international business, Paul Napolitan, Inc. His work gave him the opportunity to travel the world, with favorite ports in Seoul and Monte Carlo. His extensive travel experiences reflected both his professional dedication and his broad curiosity about life. Paul was in a business in which he thrived and about which his passion was palpable. He was a standing member of the India House at Hanover Square, NYC.

Paul brought the same energy and engagement to his personal interests that he did to his career. He was an avid artist and woodworker who found satisfaction in creating with his hands and imagination. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and Scrabble, pursuits that spoke to his sharp mind and love of challenge. Paul spent his formative years in Dumont, New Jersey where he excelled at football, baseball and track, earning him an athletic scholarship to Rutgers University. He often reminisced about his High School football team where he was proudly co-captain. He and his beloved wife, Diane, raised their four children in Bergen and Hunterdon Counties (NJ) and enjoyed family summers together in their home on Barter’s Island, Maine. He carried with him the experiences and friendships formed in those communities.

Paul is survived by his children, Gregory Napolitan and his wife, Patricia, Hope Napolitan, Joel Napolitan and his wife, Simone, and Lisa Napolitan and her wife, Lorraine; his brother, Gene Napolitan; his sister, Maryann Hupp; his grandchildren, Giorgio, Gabrielle, Chase, Dylan (dec.), Brett, Cassidy, Graham, Christopher, Rebecca, Livia, Alina, and Amelia, and four great-grandchildren. He will be remembered with love by his family and by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane; mother, Anne Spinelli Napolitan; and his Father, Gene Napolitan.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St, Flemington, New Jersey 08822. A funeral service will follow from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately.

Stuart David Murray

Stuart David Murray, of Alexandria, Virginia, died on September 22, 2026, in Alexandria. He was 61 years old.

Born on June 5, 1965, in Plainfield, New Jersey, Stuart was the son of David C. Murray and Marilyn J. Murray, née Brauneisen, of Raritan Township, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his father in 2017.

Stuart’s life was marked by learning, service, and steady dedication. He attended grammar school in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, and graduated from Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains with the Class of 1983. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Villanova University in 1987, and later received his law degree from Ohio State University.

In his professional life, Stuart worked for more than 20 years as General Counsel at the Internal Revenue Service, where he primarily interpreted the language of laws into the tax code. His career reflected both discipline and deep knowledge, and he brought care and precision to work that served the public in important ways.

Stuart also served his country with distinction in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Major, and later continued his service in the Air Force Reserves. His commitment to service extended into civilian life as well. After the outbreak of COVID, he volunteered with the Alexandria (VA) Library, giving his time in a meaningful way to his community.

Those who knew Stuart knew him as a private and reserved man in his daily life, with enduring personal interests that brought him enjoyment and balance. He was fond of listening to music by artists such as The Beatles and Elton John. He was also a voracious reader, especially drawn to collections of short stories and magazines such as The New Yorker. Exercise was an important part of his routine, and he rarely missed a day at the gym.

He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Murray of Raritan Township, New Jersey; his uncle and aunt, Andrew and Ellen Murray of Macungie, Pennsylvania; his niece Susan Marcus and her spouse, John; and his nephew, Andy Murray. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him, and may his life of service, intellect, and quiet devotion be remembered with gratitude.
