2026 Glendale Yearound By-Laws Update
We are proud to announce an important milestone in the ongoing update of the Glendale Yearound (GYR) By-Laws.
The 2026- GYR Board has joined the Pennsylvania Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) to obtain additional professional guidance and resources as we continue strengthening our governing documents. Through this association, we were introduced to Eckert Seamans, a law firm experienced in working with community associations such as Glendale Yearound. Their attorneys have been a tremendous resource in helping us develop and review the proposed 2026 By-Laws to ensure they are consistent with Pennsylvania law, while also addressing the specific needs and concerns of our community.
Since January 2026, the Board has worked diligently on this project. We have gathered comments and concerns from property owners, met with individual members of the community, reviewed existing provisions, and sought professional legal guidance throughout the process.
After months of discussion, review, and collaboration, we are pleased to announce that we now have a new proposed set of 2026 GYR By-Laws that we believe reflects the expectations of our community while providing a stronger and more legally sound foundation for Glendale Yearound moving forward.
We sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to provide input and participate in this important process. The Board’s goal has been to create By-Laws that are clear, fair, transparent, legally compliant, and focused on the long-term best interests of the entire Glendale Yearound community.
We will be mailing the bylaws for community review in October of 2026 for review and providing instructions on the next steps for voting procedures.
Here are the five strongest reasons Glendale Yearound should adopt updated By-Laws:
1. Bring GYR Governance in Line with Current Pennsylvania Law
The existing By-Laws were developed under different circumstances and may no longer adequately reflect current Pennsylvania requirements and accepted community-association practices. Updated By-Laws give GYR a stronger legal foundation and reduce unnecessary legal risk.
2. Clearly Define the Authority and Responsibilities of the Board
Updated By-Laws can clearly establish how Board members are elected, how vacancies are filled, the responsibilities of officers, voting requirements, meeting procedures, and limits on Board authority. Clear rules help prevent confusion and disagreements over how GYR should be governed.
3. Give Property Owners Greater Transparency and Representation the new By-Laws can provide clearer procedures for elections, meetings, notices, voting, member participation, financial oversight, and access to information. This helps ensure that property owners understand how decisions are made and have a meaningful voice in their community.
4. Eliminate Outdated, Conflicting, or Unclear Provisions
Over time, older governing documents can contain language that is outdated, vague, or no longer appropriate for the needs of the community. Updating the By-Laws gives GYR the opportunity to remove uncertainty and establish consistent rules that can be applied fairly to everyone.
