John Barnett

I looked for several years to purchase a home. When I was ready to move I contacted John Barnett, he helped me to purchase a older mobile home. When I arrived the carpets had been shampooed and the home left closed up without heat and the carpets mildewed. I called John Barnett several times with no response. Finally a week later he called and said he would contact seller, I heard nothing. I had to have carpets ripped out, buy an air purifier and have new flooring installed. I asked about a pest inspection during escrow and he told me "we dont have bugs like that here", I asked several times before receiving that response. After moving in I found thousands of carpenter ants coming out of the walls, I called and called John and after contacting his office he finally came over with a pest spray. He called several pest companies to come out and both said they had never seen anything like it and that these were mature and had been here for at least 4 years which I confirmed with the prior resident (never disclosed in the sale or found by the inspector recommended by John Barnett) John said he was going to meet with the prior owner and would get back to me, I never heard another word from him. In my contract my air conditioning and heating unit was to be repaired, it was under warranty (the only reason they agreed to fix) well by the time the part arrived and didnt fix, it was no longer under warranty and was never repaired. John also said in writing he would spend $2000.00 on repairs that never happened. Beware of Jim Hoberg and Roger Center as well, they were the sellers and several other mobiles here, sold by them have also had serious undisclosed problems and it has cost me thousands of dollars for all these problems so far.
